The first car to be built at the Maranello plant was an open sports car.
Convertibles always filled a special, important place in the heart of Enzo
Ferrari and of Ferrari itself after his death. All subsequent models were born
from the idea of combining sporty engineering with the appeal of open-air
driving. The F 355 Spider develops this idea still further: the top performance
of the Berlinetta and GTS is enhanced by the ease with which the hood can be
opened and closed (semiautomatic) to convert the car.
